DIY Musicians bag 4.1% of streaming market

Updated: 3 days ago

In a report published by Midia Research it's stated that DIY Musicians bagged 4.1% of the global streaming media revenues in 2019. Now this may not sound a lot but it accounts for $873M and is a part of a market that has been growing by up to 24% year on year. That 4.1% figure was as low as 1.7% in 2015, says Midia.

Many musicians are extremely negative towards streaming as they have a rap for paying extremely low royalties but it's not something to be ignored. All revenue is good revenue so get it right and it could be really beneficial and with more and more people streaming music what have you got to lose? We encourage all artists not just to get their music on sites like Spotify but to take part in collaborative marketing to get their stuff heard!

Your streaming presence should be more important to you than your socials!
